Financial Accountant

Responsibility:
- Prepare and review the monthly Profit and Loss statement by branch as well as a company.
- Manage the General Ledger and monthly written reconciliation of balance sheet accounts; if required manage the sub-ledger such as A/P, A/R and payroll.
- Prepare timely monthly financial reports for the company as well as weekly cash flow forecasts and statutory reporting for Chief Financial Officer to review and sign-off.
- Monitor organization expenditure against budget and conduct variance analysis.
- Propose and monitor any actions needed based on such analysis.
- Assist to establish the accounting procedures and policies to ensure compliance to local statutory requirements, global financial policy and to the international accounting standards and practices.
- Support and implement the internal controls to minimize risks and as recommended by external auditors.
- Handle company tax issues and corporate issues, liaison with tax agents, company secretary and legal advisers.
Requirements:
- Candidates must possess at least a Degree in Accounting/ Finance or Professional Accounting qualification.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in finance/ accounting function.
- Applicants who are a Member of a professional Accounting Body with experience working with computer based accounting system is advantageous.
- Experience in preparing full sets of accounts, statutory reporting, taxation matters and treasury functions.
- Good command of oral and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Good track record in meeting deadlines.
